Crafty Ladies: How does one go about learning to knit?

Google can be the most helpful tool ever. I found yarn and a knitting book at the Walmart in my town as well. Sometimes you have to find the right book or instructions for you depending on how you learn things. If my Google would work right now I would get you some craft site videos I watched to help me.
