Do you think ailments and accidents involving the White House staff and family are due public knowledge?

From Betty Ford's public bouts with alcoholism and cancer, to the more "hush-hush" nature of Laura Bush's skin cancer and Cheney's shooting a hunting companion, is there a greater need to know or a higher need for personal privacy when it comes to these situations? Why?
