Would it be ok to leave this sort of cat at home with the dogs for company?

I am looking at getting a cat but because I have a slight allergy I am looking towards a siamese, cornish rex or devon rex. I can only have one cat but I hear these particular breeds need lots of attention and I will be at school most of the day. I do have two dogs and i wonder whether that would be suitable stimulation for a cat of this sort. Alternatively are there any breeds that are good for allergy sufferers that don't rely on lots of attention. I was curious about rag doll cats because I know they are similar in colour to siamese. please help?
