Canesten....?

I have had a thrush infection for the past 4 days, today i asked my boyfriend to pick up some canesten on the way home from work, so he just went up to the counter and asked the girl if he could grab canesten for his girlfriend, so she past him the canesten clotrimazole anti-fungal cream(broad spectrum) and i'm realising now i should have just gone with him lol but i'm dying from this itch and i just want to know if it is safe to use this kind of canesten -down there- or if i'm meant to buy tablets or something
